Not 45 or 50 hours; you have to work 70 hours a week; only then is it possible to compete with the developed countries. This is what Infosys CEO NR Narayan Murthy suggested. He claimed that the youth should spend more time in the workplace, but India will move forward in the competition. He also commented that the work culture should be changed.
According to him, India’s labour productivity is the lowest in the world. And he gave this advice to increase that. Narayanamurthy made this comment on a recent podcast show. He said that Japan and Germany also made progress by working in this way after World War II.
In a podcast called ‘The Record’, Narayanamoorthy talks about various topics, including technology. He was also heard talking about his company, Infosys. He also cited the reasons for low productivity. Narayanamurthy said government corruption and bureaucratic bureaucracy are major reasons for low productivity. “If we can’t reduce corruption at the government level and prevent bureaucratic delays, we won’t be able to compete with countries that have made great progress,” he said.
Narayanamurthy asked the youth to come forward to take the country forward. He said, “I appeal to the youth; come forward and say, This is my country. I want to work 70 hours a week.” He also commented that a work culture should be created based on discipline, hard work, and determination.
