Fatty Liver Disease: Affected by fatty liver? Don’t worry, fatty liver disease drugs are coming soon.
Fatty liver problems are common in people who drink too much alcohol. But nowadays, people who do not drink alcohol are also suffering from this disease. The accumulation of excess fat in the body can cause this problem. It can damage the liver. Liver function decreases, which can lead to major problems such as liver fibrosis or cirrhosis.
Medicines for this disease are not yet available in India. As a result, this disease is difficult to cure. However, the production of this drug may start in India very soon. For this reason, research work is going on at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow. It is reported that the doctors of the institution’s endocrinology department have been successful in experiments on rats.
In this research, they have discovered enzymes that can be used to cure fatty liver disease. Research team member Rohit Sinha said. The Department of Endocrinology informed the media in an event organised on the fourth research day of the institution last Wednesday. According to the researchers, preparations are now underway to use this enzyme in the human body.
Dr. Rohit Sinha said that the problem of non-alcoholic fatty liver is increasing in India. About 30 percent of people in this country are suffering from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. That is, those who do not drink alcohol also suffer from this problem. Such patients also have problems with diabetes and high cholesterol. People with excess fat may develop liver problems. Dr. Inflammation in a fatty liver can lead to fibrosis, which damages the liver, Sinha said.
Medicines for this disease can be developed in the coming days. Rohit Sinha said the newly discovered enzyme will help cure fatty liver disease. Phase I tests on mice have been successful. This time, it will be applied to the human body.
Dr. According to Rohit Sinha, the liver contains a molecule called extracellular RNA. When these molecules hit the liver, inflammation increases, causing liver fibrosis. The enzyme RNASE-1 was discovered to prevent this.
Dr. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is a lifestyle disease, says Rohit Sinha. People who do not drink alcohol can also get this disease. Excess fat accumulates in this disease. It causes damage. The liver swells and causes fibrosis. If not treated on time, it can lead to cirrhosis of the liver.
