Who will move to the final in Qatar in 2022? According to predictions for the World Cup 2022 semifinals, Argentina and France are the favorites.
The FIFA World Cup heats up even more in the semifinals, as there are just four teams left competing for the 2022 championship.
Battle-tested teams are the only ones left. Brazil, one of the betting favorites, was eliminated by Croatia after a penalty shootout. Argentina, a CONMEBOL opponent, is still active, though. Although Lionel Messi and his teammates have faced challenges throughout the tournament, they have managed to stay alive and advance to the final four.
France and Morocco will face off in the other semifinal, pitting two French-speaking countries against one another. Morocco shocked Spain and Portugal to get to this level, while the Europeans defeated England in an entertaining contest. The Atlas Lions are the first African country to ever go to the semifinals of a FIFA World Cup, making them the fairytale tale of the event.
The odds for the 2022 World Cup semifinal matchups are shown below, along with our predictions for how these games will actually proceed.
Prediction for Argentina vs. Croatia in the FIFA World Cup 2022 Semifinal:
Argentina defeated the Netherlands in heavyweight boxing after 12 rounds, while CONMEBOL foe Brazil was defeated by Croatia.
Although the Netherlands scored twice in the closing ten minutes to force overtime and penalties, Lionel Messi had a magnificent moment early on. Nevertheless, Messi won the shootout thanks to Emiliano Martinez’s heroics in goal.
They will compete against Croatia, another team managed by a seasoned veteran in Luka Modric. A goal in the 117th minute gave them a shot in the penalty shootout, and their midfield dominated the quarterfinal match against Brazil. Dominik Livakovic, the goalie, excelled once more as Croatia advanced and the betting favourites were eliminated.
Prediction for France vs Morocco in the FIFA World Cup 2022 Semifinal:
Although it was far from simple, France managed to defeat England, a competitor from Europe, and go to the 2022 World Cup semifinals. Their ability to survive was partly down to Harry Kane’s missed penalty in the 83rd minute. He had a chance to tie the game but sent his spot-kick over the crossbar, resulting in Olivier Giroud’s goal being declared the winner.
While this was happening, Morocco shocked yet another European team by eliminating Portugal from the World Cup quarterfinals just days after eliminating Spain from the Round of 16. They once again relied on their defence and goaltending, and Youssef En-goal Nesyri’s in the first half was the deciding factor.
Both France and Morocco have put in a lot of effort to find ways to win despite not having their greatest players or performances. It’s a quality that helps teams at the World Cup, where mistakes must be corrected and squad depth must step up to the plate.
