The German Chancellor arrived in India: After meeting with Prime Minister Modi, the CEO of a German company says India is a good market for them.

The German Chancellor arrived in India yesterday for a two-day visit. Following his meeting with him yesterday, Modi met with the CEOs of various German companies.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is in India for two days. On Saturday, he met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other cabinet ministers. In a joint press conference following the meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that Germany is India’s largest trading partner in Europe. He also expressed German interest in the “Make in India” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat” campaigns in India. Following that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the CEOs of major German corporations. They are said to have discussed various opportunities to strengthen bilateral economic ties as well as expand education and business in India.

At the same time, Siemens AG President and CEO Roland Busch stated, “With investments under the Make in India initiative, India has enormous potential in green energy, infrastructure, and healthcare.” In India, there is a sizable youth population. There is also speed in addition to digital connectivity. Meanwhile, CEO of SFC Energy, Dr. Peter Podesar, said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is developing solar energy and green hydrogen technologies.” India can position itself as a good base for manufacturing, research and development, and engineering. Rank CEO Suzanne Weigand met with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau yesterday. “India is our trusted partner,” he said. “The Indian Armed Forces and Navy rely on us for drive systems.”

“Chancellor Olaf Scholz and I met with top CEOs to discuss various ways to strengthen economic ties between our two countries,” Modi tweeted yesterday. The meeting focused on topics such as digital transformation, fintech, IT, and telecom.
